Dead Horse Bay Brooklyn
Dead Horse Bay is an area located in Brooklyn, New York. The bay was highly affected by industrialization from the 1850s until the 1950s. It is a place that was abandoned after it was no longer of use to people. Despite the environmental damage, the bay endures and emerges as something visually captivating. The word abandonment tends to be associated with human beings rather than inanimate objects. Often people do not think about the objects we leave behind and how use impacts places. In Dead Horse Bay I am exploring abandonment as a social norm of human behavior. We exploit objects that we believe belong to us, yet when the object is no longer of value, it is discarded.
